Staten Island community resources · Sources reviewed October 27, 2026
Two selected local facilities and two care-access services. This is a starting guide, not a complete list of Staten Island hospitals or clinics. For a medical emergency, call 911.
Facilities and care-access contacts
1. NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Vanderbilt
165 Vanderbilt Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10304
844-692-4692
Public community health center for children and adults. This is the shared NYC Health + Hospitals appointment line. Ask about primary care, available specialties and the correct appointment type. Confirm current hours and whether the service requires a booked visit.
2. Richmond University Medical Center — main hospital
355 Bard Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310
718-818-1234
Hospital main number and physician-referral route. RUMC is separate from NYC Health + Hospitals. Ask which department handles your care, insurance acceptance and financial assistance. The main hospital number is not a guaranteed appointment booking for every department.
3. NYC Care — enrollment and affordability information
NYC Health + Hospitals access program; citywide telephone support
646-692-2273
Ask about access to low-cost or no-cost care if you cannot afford or do not qualify for health insurance. NYC Care is not health insurance. Enrollment and visit costs depend on program assessment. Confirm which services and facilities participate; do not assume the program covers every Staten Island hospital.
4. NYC Health + Hospitals — Virtual ExpressCare
Online urgent-care service; not a physical Staten Island clinic
646-692-2273
Use the official website to review virtual-care access or speak with an agent. The service can connect uninsured patients with financial counseling; per-visit charges depend on circumstances. Virtual care is not appropriate for every condition and is not a substitute for emergency services.
Before your visit
Confirm the service address, appointment, insurance network, expected cost and financial-assistance options directly with the provider. Public health centers, independently operated hospitals and access programs have different rules. Published contacts and service descriptions were checked against official provider websites; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
