Five selected routes for homelessness prevention, tenant support and civil legal assistance. Both HomeBase offices below are listed by HRA as serving residents throughout Staten Island.
Housing assistance contacts
1. CAMBA HomeBase — St. George
120 Stuyvesant Place, 4th Floor, Suite 413, Staten Island, NY 10301
718-282-6473
HRA lists this office as serving all Staten Island residents. CAMBA lists extension 75007. Contact the program about homelessness prevention, eligibility and documents before visiting.
2. CAMBA HomeBase — Tompkinsville
209 Bay Street, Staten Island, NY 10301
718-226-0496
A second HomeBase office serving all Staten Island. CAMBA offers prevention support directly or through referrals, including benefits advocacy, mediation and possible short-term assistance. Office hours are listed as weekdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with walk-ins 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; confirm before traveling. Assistance depends on assessment and eligibility.
3. Staten Island Legal Services
60 Bay Street, Suite 900, Staten Island, NY 10301
917-661-4500
Shared LSNYC intake for free civil legal help, Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Ask about housing assistance and eligibility. The provider’s current page announces its move to this address. Office general number: 718-233-6480. Call intake before visiting; acceptance depends on the matter and capacity.
4. NYC Tenant Helpline
Citywide tenant support and referrals
311
Ask for the Tenant Helpline. Free multilingual help with tenant rights, housing resources and referrals, including legal services, regardless of immigration status. This is a city referral route, not a local law-office number.
5. Housing Court Answers — telephone assistance
Citywide phone service; Staten Island information table currently listed as closed
212-962-4795
Call Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. for Housing Court procedures and referrals to legal or community help. The organization does not provide direct money to pay back rent. Use the phone service; do not assume a Staten Island walk-in information table is open.
Before you contact a provider
Ask about appointments, eligibility and required notices or documents. A referral does not guarantee financial assistance or legal representation, and contacting a service does not pause a court deadline. Addresses, telephone contacts and published rules were checked against official city and provider sources. Telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
