Bronx community resources · Sources reviewed October 26, 2026
Nine resources and contact routes for immigration legal help, citizenship assistance, English learning and municipal identification. This selected guide includes citywide referrals, Bronx offices and language programs. Legal-service eligibility differs from class enrollment and IDNYC enrollment.
Choose the right contact: MOIA can help you find legal services. CUNY and BronxWorks assess whether they can assist with a specific matter. English programs and IDNYC have separate enrollment rules. Ask the provider what documents and appointment steps apply; free legal assistance does not necessarily cover government filing charges.
Bronx immigrant and community resources
1. MOIA Immigration Legal Support Hotline
Citywide referral service for NYC residents, including the Bronx
800-354-0365
Free information about finding immigration legal help and a provider near you who speaks your language. MOIA states that this hotline does not directly schedule legal appointments. For general immigrant-services questions, the separate MOIA number is 212-788-7654. Check the live city page for current hotline hours.

Ask about placement, the next enrollment period and citizenship classes. Confirm your actual classroom and entrance before traveling.

1665 Hoe Avenue, Bronx, NY 10460
718-619-8838

Its stated criteria include NYC residence for at least 184 days and some form of identification; all immigration statuses are welcome. Ask about current seats, fees if any and your assigned schedule. For class information, the operator also accepts texts with “ESL/ ESOL” at 201-338-0460.
9. IDNYC — two Bronx enrollment centers
Monterey: 1910 Monterey Avenue, 3rd Floor, Bronx, NY 10457; DOF: 3030 Third Avenue, 2nd Floor, Bronx, NY 10455
311
Shared city information and appointment assistance, not a direct center number. The current location page lists Monterey walk-ins on Wednesdays, first come, first served. Other visits require appointments unless the city announces otherwise. Review identity and NYC residency document requirements before going. The live city page lists Monterey on the third floor; confirm the entrance and floor when arranging your visit.
Before you contact a provider
Confirm service-area rules, appointment availability, language assistance and accessibility. For legal matters, ask whether the provider handles your type of case and whether government filing fees or fee-waiver applications are involved. If you have a deadline, tell the provider when requesting help; a referral alone does not establish representation.
Addresses and contact roles were checked against the linked official sources. Telephone numbers have not been tested by calling. Schedules, class seats and intake arrangements may change. This guide provides referral information rather than advice about an individual immigration case.
