Staten Island community resources · Sources reviewed October 27, 2026
Four selected routes for job seekers and adult learners. This guide covers local services and library support, not every training provider or job vacancy.
Workforce1 eligibility
ACCESS NYC lists Workforce1 services for NYC residents age 18 or older who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Register online or at a center. Individual training programs can have additional requirements. These rules do not automatically apply to the college and library programs below. Official eligibility and registration information.
Career and learning resources
1. Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center
120 Stuyvesant Place, 3rd Floor, Staten Island, NY 10301
718-285-8463
Free job-search support, workshops and referrals. The state directory lists weekday hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. SBS also lists its Industrial & Transportation Career Center at this same address; ask about sector-specific services rather than treating it as a second physical site. Confirm intake before visiting.
2. College of Staten Island — Adult Literacy and Language Program
2800 Victory Boulevard, Building 2A, Room 202, Staten Island, NY 10314
718-982-3996
English-language learning and GED preparation. The current page says Fall 2026 registration is closed and directs prospective students to separate ESL or GED waitlists. Ask about assessment, the next intake and any costs before traveling. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee a seat.
3. College of Staten Island — Workforce Development and Innovation
2800 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314; confirm the current office and classroom
718-982-2182
Continuing-education and career-training inquiries. The program page lists Building 1A, Room 204, while another campus directory shows a different room; confirm your destination. Course prerequisites, tuition, financial assistance and certification costs vary. Ask about the next course and total cost; these programs are not all free.
4. NYPL Career Services
Virtual and in-person services; confirm the location when booking
Free career support, résumé and cover-letter help, job applications and career events. Follow the official program links to book or find current sessions. Do not assume that every Staten Island library branch provides walk-in career coaching.
Before you register
Confirm appointments, documents, assessments, course dates, accessibility and total costs with the provider. Training or a referral does not guarantee employment. Details were checked against official government, college and library-service sources; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
