Seven local organizations and program contacts for community services, learning, food assistance, disability support and business connections. This selected list helps you reach the right team; it is not a complete Bronx nonprofit directory.
Local organizations and contacts
1. BronxWorks
Administrative office: 60 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY 10453
646-393-4000
General starting point for information about the organization’s housing, benefits, workforce, immigration, youth and older-adult programs. This administrative contact is not a direct intake number for every service; ask for the appropriate program and location.
2. New Settlement
Main offices: 1512 Townsend Avenue, Bronx, NY 10452
718-716-8000
Youth, education, college-access, housing-organizing and community programs. The separate community center is at 1501 Jerome Avenue, with phone 718-758-5901. Confirm your program’s address, enrollment requirements and any fees before visiting.
3. Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC)
3101 Kingsbridge Terrace, Bronx, NY 10463
718-884-0700
Early-childhood, youth, adult/family and nutrition programs. Ask the main number for the relevant team; the pantry page lists extension 100 for food-pantry questions. Program-specific enrollment and schedules vary.
4. Part of the Solution (POTS)
2759 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY 10458
718-220-4892
Food assistance and support toward greater stability, including benefits and other services. Call extension 101 for intake-related inquiries and confirm the service location; POTS also lists a separate office at 2450 Grand Concourse.
5. Bronx Independent Living Services (BILS)
2330 Hoffman Street, C-1A, Bronx, NY 10458
718-515-2800
Disability advocacy, independent-living information and related programs. Use the operator’s current Hoffman Street address rather than older directory listings, and confirm your appointment and accessibility needs.
6. Bronx Chamber of Commerce
1200 Waters Place, Suite 112, Bronx, NY 10461
718-828-3900
Business connections, advocacy, educational opportunities and local referrals. Ask which resources are available to nonmembers and which require membership or event fees.
7. Commonpoint Bronx — English learning contact
1665 Hoe Avenue, Bronx, NY 10460
718-619-8838
This is the Bronx ESOL program contact for English-class questions, not a verified general line for every Commonpoint service. Ask about assessment, intake, eligibility and available classes. Use the program website to confirm enrollment details.
Find the right program
Explain the help you need and ask for the program responsible. Administrative offices, community centers and classrooms may have different addresses. Confirm appointments, age or residency requirements, fees and accessibility. A nonprofit’s general mission does not mean every program is open to every resident or offered at no cost.
Addresses and contact roles were checked against the linked operator sources. Telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
