Bronx Food Assistance: Pantries, Free Meals and Official Food Finders

Bronx community resources · Sources reviewed October 26, 2026

Find groceries to prepare at home, ready-to-eat meals and current food distribution locations. This is a selected guide to six local programs or contact routes, plus three official and nonprofit food finders; it is not a complete list of Bronx pantries.

Need help finding food today? Call 311 and ask for a nearby food pantry or community kitchen. Call the provider before traveling to confirm its next distribution, availability, registration, documents and accessibility. A pantry and a meal program may have different schedules.

4. BronxWorks — client-choice pantry appointment hotline

Multiple Bronx sites — confirm the assigned distribution address
646-596-1316

This is the shared pantry appointment hotline, not a walk-in site. Call on the designated call day shown in the operator’s monthly schedule. Appointments are offered in call order and may fill. Use the live program page for the latest flyer, site and dates; do not rely on an earlier month’s schedule.

The operator lists older-adult pantry distribution on the second Friday of each month, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., and a separate distribution for community members under 60 on the fourth Friday. 7. NYC311 — Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens

8. City Harvest Food Map

Search the nonprofit’s map for food pantries, soup kitchens, community fridges and mobile distributions. Check each location’s details; hours and services can change.

9. Food Bank For NYC — Find Food

Use the organization’s locator for free groceries, meals and SNAP support. Availability depends on the site and remaining supplies; a map listing does not reserve food or an appointment.

Before you visit

Ask whether you need an appointment, household identification or proof of address, and how often your household may visit. Requirements vary: one provider’s document rules do not apply to every pantry. Ask about food suitable for your household’s dietary needs and bring bags if requested. Addresses, contact roles and published schedules were checked against the linked sources; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling. Posted hours do not guarantee same-day availability.
