Four selected routes for school enrollment, neighborhood family support, child care assistance and early-childhood developmental referrals. These services have different purposes and eligibility rules.
Family support contacts
1. Family Welcome Center — Staten Island
365 Bay Street, Staten Island, NY 10301
718-420-5617
School enrollment, transfer and MySchools help for District 31. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance appointments are recommended. Bring government-issued ID for building entry. Published office hours: Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Contact a child’s zoned or offered school directly when appropriate.
2. The Spot — Family Enrichment Center
30 Beach Street, Staten Island, NY 10304
646-593-2770
Operated by Staten Island Justice Center for the St. George/Stapleton community. ACS lists this as the center director’s contact. FEC participation is free and voluntary, without required referral, appointment or eligibility screening. Call for opening hours, activities and available resources.
3. NYC child care assistance and MyCity
Citywide application and recertification service
311
Ask about child care assistance. The city currently reports a voucher waitlist for eligible families not receiving cash assistance, with some invited from the list on a rolling basis. Existing recipients should follow their recertification instructions. Check the current official page; submitting an application does not guarantee a voucher.
4. NYC Early Intervention
Citywide referral and evaluation route for young children
311
Ask for Early Intervention if you are concerned about an infant’s or toddler’s development. The program serves children under age three who meet eligibility criteria after evaluation. A referral is not automatic approval for services. Use the official city page to check age-related referral instructions and the online referral option.
Before you visit or apply
Confirm hours, appointments, documents and current program requirements. School enrollment support, family-center activities and child care funding follow separate processes. The Family Enrichment Center is a community space rather than a case-management program. Contacts and published rules were checked against official city and school-system sources; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
