Find food near your address
For groceries to prepare at home, look for a food pantry. For a prepared meal, look for a community kitchen or meal program. Use the official Food Help NYC map or call 311 and ask for food locations near you. The Food Bank for NYC finder also lists pantries, meals and mobile sites.
Before traveling, confirm the distribution date, registration or reservation rules, required documents and whether food is still available. Requirements vary: a photo ID is required by some providers and not by others. A published schedule is not a reservation or a guarantee of food.

Ongoing food and benefits support
ACCESS NYC: Community Food Connection explains how to find free groceries and meals and links to SNAP and other benefits. SNAP is a separate benefits program; ask about eligibility and application assistance rather than assuming pantry registration enrolls you.
Adults age 60 and older can ask Aging Connect at 212-244-6469 about group meals and home-delivered meal assessment. See Brooklyn older-adult centers and clubs.
Sources and scope
Locations and entry rules come from the linked operators. Catholic Charities sites use its March 3, 2026 flyer; the shared network phone is labeled separately from a local pantry phone. Provider pages checked on October 25, 2026; no telephone confirmation was performed. This is a selection of source-checked Brooklyn programs, not every pantry in the borough. Use the official maps for more locations.
