Six selected routes to legal-service information, citizenship assistance and city resources. Local sites and citywide intake services have different eligibility and appointment rules.
Immigrant support and contacts
1. MOIA Immigration Legal Support Hotline
Citywide information and referrals
800-354-0365
Find free immigration legal-service providers and language assistance. The hotline does not book legal appointments directly. Some city-funded providers have income limits. Check the official page for current telephone hours and holiday changes.
2. NYC Immigrant Affairs Hotline — general questions
Citywide city-service information
212-788-7654
General questions about city services and immigrant resources. This is separate from the immigration legal-support hotline.
3. Project Hospitality — MOIA Legal Support Center
221 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10302
929-598-6211
MOIA lists English, Spanish and Yoruba, with weekday hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Call or text to schedule an appointment. The city-funded program serves NYC residents who meet its income criteria; confirm eligibility and case scope with the provider.
4. Make the Road New York — MOIA-listed site
161 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10302
MOIA lists this Staten Island site with English and Spanish services. Its entry does not show a dedicated local phone number. Use the organization’s official service information or the MOIA hotline to confirm current appointment arrangements before visiting.
5. CUNY Citizenship Now! — shared intake
Citywide appointment service; confirm the location or remote format with intake
646-664-9400
Free consultations and application help within the program’s scope, including naturalization, family petitions and certain document requests. No maximum income requirement; CUNY students receive priority. Employment-related immigration cases are excluded. This is not a confirmed Staten Island walk-in office. Government filing fees are separate unless waived.
6. IDNYC — Staten Island enrollment
201 Bay Street, 2nd Floor, Staten Island
311
The current city page lists Monday walk-ins here, first come, first served. Otherwise arrange an appointment and confirm operations before visiting. New appointments are released Fridays for the next week. Check the official document calculator. IDNYC is a municipal card, not a New York State ID.
Before you contact a provider
Confirm appointments, language support, accepted cases and documents directly with the organization. A screening does not guarantee eligibility for an immigration benefit or legal representation. This guide supplies referral information, not individual legal advice. Contacts were checked against official city, university and provider sources; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
