Six selected service routes, including citywide hotlines and Manhattan consultation or enrollment locations. Availability, eligibility and appointment rules differ by provider.
Legal help and city services
1. MOIA Immigration Legal Support Hotline
Citywide information and referrals
800-354-0365
Find free immigration legal-service providers near your neighborhood and in your language. The hotline does not book legal appointments directly. Some city-funded providers have income limits. The current MOIA schedule lists Monday and Wednesday 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; and the last Saturday of the month 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Confirm holiday changes.
2. NYC Immigrant Affairs Hotline — general questions
Citywide city-service information
212-788-7654
MOIA’s general inquiry number. Ask about city services and immigrant resources. It is separate from the immigration legal-support hotline above.
3. CUNY Citizenship Now! in the Heights
5030 Broadway, Room H201, New York, NY 10034
646-664-9350
Full-time Manhattan location, by appointment only. Free consultations and application assistance within the program’s scope; contact the office before traveling.
4. CUNY Citizenship Now! at BMCC — CUNY students only
199 Chambers Street, Room S230F, New York, NY 10007-1097
646-664-9400
Part-time immigration consultations at the Advocacy and Resource Center (Single Stop). The location listing restricts this service to CUNY students. This is the shared Citizenship Now! intake number; request an appointment and confirm eligibility.
5. CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies — immigration consultations
25 West 43rd Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10036
212-642-2029
CUNY lists this as a part-time location for immigration consultations only. Call to confirm availability and the appointment process; do not assume it offers the full range of application services on a walk-in basis.
6. IDNYC — Manhattan Union Square enrollment
109 East 16th Street, 1st Floor, Manhattan
311
The current city application page lists Thursday walk-ins here, first come, first served. Other days require an appointment; confirm current operations before visiting. New appointments are released Fridays for the following week. Use the official document calculator to check identity and NYC residency documents. IDNYC is a municipal identification card, not a New York State ID.
Understanding Citizenship Now! services
CUNY lists free help with naturalization, family-based petitions, DACA, TPS and certain document and fee-waiver requests. There is no maximum income requirement, and CUNY students receive priority. The program does not handle employment-related immigration cases. Ask whether your matter is within scope; an appointment does not guarantee representation. Free assistance does not automatically waive government filing fees. Official service scope · Citizenship Now! contacts and events.
Before you visit
Confirm your appointment, accepted cases, language assistance and required documents with the provider. This directory offers referral information, not an assessment of anyone’s immigration eligibility. Contacts and published rules were checked against city and university sources; telephone numbers have not been tested by calling.
