Bronx community resources · Sources reviewed October 26, 2026
Seven resources for Bronx entrepreneurs, small business owners and nonprofit organizers: local business contacts plus citywide mentoring and legal-support programs. Use the service descriptions to choose the right starting point.
Start here: NYC Business Solutions, the Bronx SBDC and BOC offer business counseling. The Chamber provides local connections, SCORE offers mentoring, and the legal programs below have their own eligibility and intake rules. Free advice does not mean free membership, office space, financing or every related service.
Business and nonprofit support
1. Bronx Chamber of Commerce
1200 Waters Place, Suite 112, Bronx, NY 10461
718-828-3900
Business networking, advocacy, education and connections to local resources. Ask which services are open to nonmembers and what membership or event fees apply. Chamber membership is separate from free government business counseling.
2. NYC Business Solutions Center — Bronx
400 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY 10458 — confirm the floor and entrance when arranging your visit
718-960-7910
NYC311 lists this Bronx center for free business assistance, including education, financing guidance, legal assistance, recruitment and certification support. Appointments are recommended for in-person visits, although the city also lists walk-in service. Confirm the service you need and current intake arrangements.
3. Bronx Small Business Development Center at Lehman College
Lehman College campus, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, NY 10468; ask about the advising appointment location
718-960-8806
No-cost one-to-one business advising, training and research for people starting or growing a business. Advisors can help with plans, financial preparation, lender connections and government-contracting questions. Advising does not guarantee a loan or grant. Use the center’s appointment link or email sbdc.bronx@lehman.cuny.edu.
4. Bronx Business Outreach Center — BOC Network
BXL Business Incubator, 2929 Third Avenue, 4th Floor, Bronx, NY 10455
718-576-2230
BOC’s own location directory lists this Bronx contact. Basic business advisory services are free and can cover starting or expanding a business, planning, marketing, financing preparation, permits and referrals. Ask which service and counselor fit your needs. Office space, financing products and other programs have separate terms; do not assume they are free.
5. SCORE New York City — mentoring for Bronx entrepreneurs
Citywide chapter serving all five boroughs — arrange your mentoring session before traveling
646-580-2066
Free business mentoring for new and existing entrepreneurs. Request a mentor through SCORE and check whether your session is online, by phone or in person. Workshops and other offerings can have separate registration or fees; review each event’s terms. This is the NYC chapter number, not a Bronx storefront.
6. City Bar Justice Center — Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project
Citywide program serving eligible NYC microentrepreneurs, including Bronx business owners
212-382-6633
Free business legal support for eligible microentrepreneurs with limited financial means. Topics include business formation, contracts, commercial leases and intellectual property. Clinics require advance registration; individual representation depends on screening and availability. Contact the project directly or email nelp@nycbar.org.
7. Lawyers Alliance for New York — nonprofit information and legal support
Citywide nonprofit support; request a call or apply online
212-219-1800
For general information on nonprofit business and transactional legal issues, use the Resource Call request form. If you cannot use the form, email resourcecall@lawyersalliance.org; without email access, leave a message at extension 224. This free information service does not give individual legal advice or answer personal or for-profit business questions. Responses may take at least three business days. Separate legal representation requires an application and screening; the operator lists client and incorporation fees, so confirm costs or funding before proceeding.

Before you book
Confirm whether the service fits a for-profit business, a nonprofit or an individual entrepreneur. Ask about appointments, eligibility, language assistance, accessibility and fees. For financing support, distinguish advice and application preparation from approval or a direct award. Verify current terms with the provider before committing to membership, space, a course or a financial product.
Addresses and contact roles were checked against the linked official provider and government sources. Telephone numbers have not been tested by calling. This is a selected resource guide, not a complete directory or individualized legal or financial advice.
