New York State Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny, representing the 46th Assembly District in Brooklyn, spoke at the First Community Welcome Health Fair hosted by Welcome Care, a long-serving home care agency in New York.
The event took place in Bensonhurst and brought together home care workers, health care professionals, community leaders, elected officials and local residents. Welcome Care honored some of its best and longest-serving home care workers for their dedication, compassion and service to seniors, people with disabilities and children with autism.
During the event, honored agency workers received Certificates of Appreciation, special gift baskets and bonuses from Welcome Care. Senator Steve Chan and Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny also presented Certificates of Recognition to several home care workers, recognizing their important role in supporting families and vulnerable members of the community.
In his remarks, Assemblyman Brook-Krasny praised the employees of Welcome Care and the home attendants who serve New York families every day. He described them as examples of hardworking immigrants who bring strong work values to America, support their communities and take pride in this country and in their place of work.
Brook-Krasny said that many people in the room came to the United States as immigrants and came here to build the American Dream for themselves, their families and the country. He emphasized the contribution of immigrant workers who follow the law, work hard and help make America stronger.
The Assemblyman also spoke about civic participation and upcoming elections in New York. He encouraged people to vote and discussed his views on the political direction of the state. Brook-Krasny criticized the size of the New York State budget and argued that taxpayer money should be managed more responsibly. He also said that, in his opinion, New York needs reforms in budgeting, immigration policy and public safety.
Speaking about the November 3 general election, Brook-Krasny mentioned Bruce Blakeman as a Republican candidate for governor and said that Republican leadership, in his view, would make life in New York more affordable and bring more responsibility to the way taxpayer money is spent.
The video captures a community moment that combined appreciation for home care workers, immigrant success stories, health care outreach and a political message about New York’s future.
