Trump’s friends say accusations make him stronger, and even foes agree

Donald Trump’s political future may be brighter than ever, despite the ongoing prosecution by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. In fact, Trump’s supporters and opponents alike believe that Bragg’s accusations could actually boost Trump’s chances of retaking the White House in 2024.

According to former GOP congressman and New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin, “Alvin Bragg’s political prosecution is going to make President Trump stronger.” Zeldin suggests that even “independent-minded general election voters” may begin to sympathize with Trump as the case continues to drag on, potentially even beyond the 2024 primaries.

Despite accusations that Trump illegally concealed hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, which Trump vehemently denies, many voters are already expressing concerns that this indictment is politically motivated. As the legal drama swirls on, the outrage over the historic indictment could actually play to Trump’s political strengths, further emboldening his supporters and fueling his bid for the presidency.

However, the alleged falsification of hush-money payments is only a misdemeanor under state law. To escalate the charges to a felony, Bragg must prove that it was committed with an “intent to defraud” the federal campaign finance system. This theory was previously pursued and ultimately dismissed by federal law enforcement authorities, according to attorney Marc Mukasey.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Trump continues to captivate the media. The latest development involves Trump’s own suggestion that he be handcuffed during his arraignment, scheduled for Tuesday. However, according to sources, the Secret Service has vetoed the idea, citing potential security risks in case of an emergency.

As the drama unfolds, the public remains gripped by the spectacle. Will Bragg’s prosecution strengthen Trump’s political chances, or will it ultimately lead to his downfall? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – the political landscape of America has been forever changed by the ongoing saga of Donald Trump.
