Welcome Care, a prominent home care agency with 23 years of service in New York, hosted its First Community Welcome Health Fair in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, bringing together home care workers, health care professionals, elected officials, community leaders and local residents.
The event focused on honoring some of Welcome Care’s best and longest-serving home care workers, whose daily work supports seniors, people with disabilities and children with autism. Welcome Care Vice President Svetlana Berlin, Director of Operations Zina Bubis and Public Affairs Director Ari Kagan praised the honorees for their hard work, dedication, compassion and commitment to the families they serve.
Each honoree received a special gift basket, a Certificate of Appreciation and a bonus from Welcome Care. New York State Senator Steve Chan and Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny also presented Certificates of Recognition to the honored home care workers: Ana Cabral Rosario, Bertha Jean Baptiste, Marika Kiria, Lilia Veretchak, Jasmine Nunez and Leviza Mazinova.
The honorees expressed their gratitude for the recognition and thanked Welcome Care and the elected officials for appreciating their work. The ceremony highlighted the essential role of home attendants in New York’s health care system and the importance of recognizing the people who provide direct, daily care to vulnerable members of the community.
The health fair also offered valuable services and information for attendees. Nurses from South Brooklyn Health checked blood pressure and provided health advice, while representatives from ElderServe, Fidelis Care, Prime Home Health Services and other health care organizations answered questions from the audience.
Former New York City Councilman Ari Kagan, who served as Master of Ceremonies, thanked Lina Chen, CEO of Health Essential Association, for her hospitality and recognized the many community leaders who joined and supported the event.
Welcome Care’s First Community Welcome Health Fair became both a celebration of dedicated home care workers and a practical community health event for Bensonhurst residents.
